About
Hey there! I'm Narra.
I was born and raised in Illinois, moved to Minnesota for college, and have been here since! After working in education for 4 years, I decided to take the plunge and run my business full time in June 2023. In my free time, you can find me learning a new craft medium, binging anime, or checking out new local restaurants, breweries, and shops.
Humble Beginnings
During early covid lockdown times, I saw a pile of clothes that didn't fit me anymore and thought, "what if I made these clothes into something new?" After some research, I learned there was a term for this: upcycling.
My very first products were upcycled scrunchies (picture of them to the right!), which are still some of my most popular items today! In the beginning, I sold scrunchies to my friends on Instagram for $1, eventually made an Etsy page for my products, and later branched out to create my own personal online store.
The fabrics I use in my work are still primarily all upcycled or reclaimed - think vintage textiles, fabric scraps, and thrifted or donated clothing. Although I have branched out to other creative mediums, sustainability is still very important to me. I strive to create little to no waste in my creative endeavors, reuse or repurpose materials when possible, and use eco-friendly packaging supplies for orders.
Creative Growth
Over the past few years, my sewing abilities have grown, but I've also learned how to crochet, ventured into digital illustration, and started a YouTube channel! In addition to selling my goods online, I work as a freelance artist doing illustration, digital design, and branding work. Starting this business in 2020 has helped me grow in many ways, and I feel like I'm still just beginning to explore what my career holds for me!
